Ann Arbor Transportation Authority: Do you want to avoid looking and paying for parking in downtown Ann Arbor? Try parking for free at Pioneer High School and take an AATA bus.  Park free at the lot on Main St., just south of W. Stadium. Pull into the lot at the passenger shelter. The shelter is easy to see, and there is parking nearby.

Three AATA routes serve this route. You can take either route #16 or route #7 to downtown.
The route number and the direction are shown on the front and right side of the bus. You want a bus that says; “To Downtown”. There is a bus every 15 minutes weekdays. The timetable is displayed at the shelter. The trip to downtown takes 6 minutes. Both buses go to the transit center on Fourth Avenue between Liberty and William. The #7 bus continues on Fourth Ave. to Kerrytown. You can ask the driver for the closest stop to your destination.

If you’re uncertain about any part of your trip, ask the driver. They’re happy to help new riders. To return to Pioneer High, you can get on either a #7 or #16 bus. Both buses board passengers in the bus mall in the transit center. A bus on one of these routes goes to Pioneer High every 15 minutes. The #7 buses go straight to Pioneer. #16 buses go to the edge of campus on the way, and it takes 10 minutes to get to Pioneer.

For more information on fares, routes and schedules, go to the AATA website, www.theride.org or call AATA information at 996-0400. Information is also available on other park and ride lots with service to the UM campus and medical center.
