PITTSFIELD SENIOR PROGRAMS

Contact the Senior Center at (734) 822-2117

Pittsfield Charter Township provides many services to its residents. Among these services is a Senior Center that provides opportunities to adults 55 years of age and over. We are located at the corner of State Street and Ellsworth Roads.

Our goals are the effective involvement of older adults through meaningful activities and the creation of opportunities for growth, development and the maintenance of good health.

We strive to meet the needs of our older adults by providing social and recreational needs and physical activities, special events, supportive services, help in emergencies, volunteer and employment services, and senior resource information. Anyone from any area may participate.

If you find it difficult to visit the center, we can provide you any Center information that you may need. Just give us a call!

New visitors and participants are always welcome and volunteers are always needed to help with the daily operation of our programs. Share your knowledge with friends by being a guest instructor for crafts, ceramics, computer, cooking, or anything you think others may find interesting. We welcome your interest, help and suggestions.

To make it possible for adequate planning, the Pittsfield Township Senior Center requests that you register in advance for classes offered free of charge as well as for those requiring a fee. To register, call 822-2117. All sessions held at the Pittsfield Twp. Senior Center.

Pittsfield Township Senior Citizen Quilters

To watch Mary's Senior Moments Interview click here.

For the past 8 years, the Pittsfield Township Senior Citizen Quilters have sent love and comfort to thousands of babies and sick children in the form of handmade quilts.  These children have been born HIV positive, have been abandoned, live in foster care or have been born affected by maternal substance abuse.  Last year alone, 900 quilts were donated to Mott Children’s Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House, the HIV Resource Center, Safe House Center, and Detroit Receiving Hospital among many others. The Pittsfield Charter Township Board of Trustees expressed its sincere appreciation to the Pittsfield Township Senior Citizen Quilters by presenting an official proclamation of recognition. [ more]
